Each painting I make starts with large paper that I tape to the floor. I work around the paper, filling it with dreams and memories. All of the fantastical landscapes in my mind are told as a fable, where plants and animals take center stage and reveal the tenderness I feel for this life.

After each drawing is complete I have had them digitally documented, then scaled down to create a smaller, more intimate world. These images are then printed. Looking at all of these prints together amidst a sea of looms and woven cloth I have been thinking a lot about drawing into the woven grid. I have started experimenting with deconstructing these fabled drawings and then weaving them back together, sometimes mashing several different drawings together. In the end the new woven image feels like a stop motion animation of sorts. Broken and repeated, coming to life as something new and surprising. In my artwork I’m hoping to push to the edges, investigating all the mystery and possibility that is held inside a single piece of work. After all, each time we make a creative decision, we have to let go of so much more. I yearn to dive into this many layered marshland of my creative mind to see what kind of possibilities are held there and I am realizing it might be endless.
