Job Title:

Studio Assistant at Amber M. Jensen LLC


Company Bio/Mission:

At Amber M. Jensen bespoke weaving and sewing studio we build handwoven wearable art and accessories made in small batches. With fine craftsmanship as our foundation we aim to make beautiful, utility driven, one of a kind art objects made with a keen, specialized eye for detail. 


Role Summary


As a studio assistant you will work side- by- side with Amber as an extension of her hands. Work days consist of cutting, punching and riveting waxed canvas and leather, stitching heavyweight fabrics on an industrial sewing machine, weaving on a jack loom, photographing studio processes, uploading products in webshop and shipping out product. 



The initial contract is for three months with a possibility for an extension. 


Role Responsibilities 


Managing and organizing the manufacturing studio side of Amber M. Jensen Art Studio.

This includes everything involved in the making  of backpacks, handbags and other seasonal products. 

Keeping product organized and logged in an inventory system through webshop and shipping of sold merchandise.


Role Requirement (MUST HAVE SKILLS)


-Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and sometimes work collaboratively with Amber.

-Joyful, positive attitude.

-Manage and keep an entire workshop organized

-Self-starter and can grasp the greater goals and work quickly to achieve them while  keeping quality still at the forefront 

-Can work quickly but accurately.

-Eye for detail but not get bogged down in perfectionism

-Can embrace the mundane in craftsmanship- work in repetition and sustain interest 

-Not just an artist but a craftsperson. A genuine interest in honing their craft skills over experimental inventive art-making

-Finds joy in repetition and working with systems for a successful end product.

-Ability to pivot business production as Amber deems necessary for success of business.

-I am looking for someone who can care about what I make and do as much as I do and understands the brand and mission. 

-Familiar with  Squarespace e-commerce platform

-Can build Spreadsheets for production plans

-Confidence using an industrial sewing machine or at least a quick and confident learner. 

-IPhone video skills and google shared photos platform.


Time/ Location


Starting 18-24 hours a week. 6 hour shifts ideal.
