In an effort to push myself out of my sewing comfort zone I have taught myself a new technique called English piecework. It is a technique where you hand baste quilt fabric to paper pieces and then slowly whip stitch them together. After they are connected you can tear the paper away to reveal a […]

I just finished the new cases for Woolmark’s fall 2013 presentation of “The Wool Lab.” I will be sending them off to Prato, Italy at the end of the week!
The much anticipated pannier prototype is here. This weekend we will be showing it at a bicycle show in Bend, OR.
Brad (www.capricornbicycles.com) of Capricorn Bicycles and I have been busy putting our heads together trying to come up with the perfect front rack bag. Since hardware can be sort of limiting we have decided that Brad’s metalwork and my sewing construction could be integrated in order for the bag to be sturdy, easy to get […]
I was asked to create a small edition for a website based out of Minneapolis called ‘Ship and Shape’. They gave be freedom to be creative and since I have been experimenting with printing on waxed canvas, I figured this was a perfect time to create some small hand drawn textile pieces that I then […]
A newly updated Wayfarer.
Here are some photos that were sent my way from Riccardo Rami Studio in Prato, Italy this morning. We collaborated on woolen cases to hold all of the samples for the Woolmark 2013 portfolio. These photos are from the Pitti Uomo show. Two of my cases are on display and was pleasantly surprised to see […]
Last weekend I went up to Portland for the first time since our move to be a part of a really amazing event. The Portland Bazaar was a curated show, organized by the lovely and talented Grace Bonney of Design Sponge, Matt Pierce from Wood and Faulk, and Greg Hennes from Antler and Co. It […]
Earlier this year I had the privilege of collaborating with Riccardo Rami Studio in Prato, Italy for a campaign with Woolmark. I am so honored that they have asked me back to work on their spring campaign. I am creating large carrying cases made of beautiful Italian hop sack wool. These cases are meant to […]
Last month I was honored to be contacted by Alice Marsh from the Design Museum of London to sell in their shop. They are now on display in their web shop and in the Museum. Yippie! I imagine myself as one of my packs this morning, sitting by a large glass window, overlooking […]
Introducing a new jet black pack for our journeys into winter months. More to come….
I have slowly been working on making this new house MY house…thought I would share some photos of my dining room. I covered the chairs in a linen with handstitched wool applique and painted the frames white. On the walls I hung a previous series of drawings that I showcased in some hand quilted linen […]

Today’s new prototype is a small two toned coin purse. It is made in a nice gray and ivory waxed canvas. It is finished with a tangerine leather closure. Thinking of offering these in a few colors…maybe a little bit wider too.
As I posted before, I have been trying to dedicate a little time each day to designing new items. This is partially because I am working on my new website (almost done…can’t wait) and want to be able to offer a larger range of items. Plus, the monotony of sewing in a production style has […]
The last few days I have dedicated to prototyping a new rucksack design. Pictured are two versions: one in wool and waxed canvas and the other in gray cotton duck canvas with waxed canvas. This new design will be exclusively available starting next week on my new ecommerce site: www.sketchbookcrafts.com. Included in the slideshow is […]
A friend of mine is turning 30 on Sunday, October 2nd. To commemorate this special day I decided to send her a one of a kind (or at least for the time being) Sketchbook pack made from heather gray wool and tan waxed canvas. After I made it I found Brad finishing up my new […]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=za1nn4EmrPQ Last month I completed 12 woolen cases to house fabric books and samples for a Woolmark Campaign in Prato, Italy. I have had the privilege of being able to send some of my work to some of the most beautiful places in the world. I only wish that I could hand deliver them all. […]
I have been hard at work collaborating with Brad from www.capricornbicycles.com to create the ultimate front rack bag for his amazing custom frames. After several prototypes we think we have a winner. It is a sturdy industrial wool felt inner structure with a origami-like folded and sewn waxed canvas outer layer. We worked hard to […]
