While working at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, I had the opportunity to work with Jody Williams who is an expert box maker. For this holiday season I decided to try my hand at making a fabric covered jewelry box for my mother from scratch. Upon completion I decided to monogram it with her initials “JRJ.” I used my free form foot on my Bernina and went to town. It took about an hour and a little bit of a cramp in my hands but it was well worth it. I hand appliqued it onto the striped fabric in a circle shape.
